Second Round of Debris Removal

Remaining invasive honeysuckle around the KPVA pond was cleared, and the landscaping contractor cleaned the parcel during its vernal cleanup.

A neighbor writes:

On March 20 I went around the pond with loppers and small shears to cut and dab many of the remaining small shoots and samplings of honeysuckle, leaving a bunch of the twiggy debris around the backside of the pond. I also started to uncover existing black edging that defines a landscaping border around the backside of the pond. One observation is that much of the berm forming the back rim of the pond is a mix of dirt and stone, not merely plain soil.

When Pemberton’s team descended on the neighborhood, I spoke with the crew leader and asked him if I could put that remaining debris curbside for them to pick up. He was supportive, and arrived with an army of blowers that quickly blew twigs and leaves out of the backside of the KPVA pond. The area around the trees on empty Lot 15 is clean, too. By the end of the day, the curbside pile was gone.

The KPVA parcel looks much better. With the debris removed, we now have a clearer perspective on the space as we move forward. Any parties interested in weighing in with ensuing landscaping suggestions are welcome to join the effort. Contact Chuck Bueter.
